MY TRADING JOURNEY
Growing up, my only exposure to markets was watching my dad check Georgia-Pacific stock quotes in the newspaper each morning. When I started earning money, I bought stocks using a simple buy-and-hold value approach. Despite $100 commissions each way in the 90s, I had success—enough to convince me day trading would be easy.
I was wrong. I studied relentlessly, learned from legends like Mark Cook, Linda Raschke, and Jim Dalton, and tested countless indicators and timeframes. But success was elusive. I learned hard lessons about emotion, revenge trading, overtrading, and how quickly losses can mount. There were times I could do nothing right. But I persisted, and gradually, over years, my trading improved.
Why The RIGHT Trade exists. Trading is confusing. It's hard to know what to study or who to trust. Much of the Youtube content is misleading, and there's far more to trading than memorizing chart patterns. My son and I aren't wealthy professionals—we're like you. I bring experience; he's learning. We both make mistakes. We created this site to share our journey and help traders shorten their learning curve.
Our goal is simple: build a community focused on finding the right process, not selling dreams.
